CHEM 213: A strong foundation in organic laboratory skills is provided by this laboratory course. Laboratory work includes learning the basic techniques which lay the foundation for carrying out a number of organic syntheses or natural product isolations. Students are provided with hands-on access to instrumentation for the characterization of synthetic products or organic unknowns using methods such as IR, NMR, UV/V is spectroscopy, polarimetry, GC and GC-MS.

Notebook: A bound notebook is required—available from the bookstore, it must make a carbon-copy of your in-class assignment. 

Goggles: Goggles or safety glasses with side-shields are acceptable.  Protective clothing is strongly recommended.
